The fully equipped kitchen comes with range, oven, and fridge/freezer. Coffee, tea and breakfast fixings are provided for anyone’s impromptu over night stay. Access to the dry sauna is located close by. You will find games, books, and Wi-Fi internet access.

Bedroom & Bathroom

From your queen-size bed spend a lazy morning watching the clouds drift past double skylights overhead. The master bath features a parkstone ceramic spa bath, large walk-in shower with waterfall shower head, and is stocked with towels, robes, hair dryer, and toiletries.

Find parking on the lower ledge of the bluff, sauna access and vineyard hiking trail.

Additional Details

This is our highest cottage on the bluff with approximately 120 steps to the front door. This is a 2-story cottage with the bedroom upstairs and the kitchen/living area on the main level.

We loved our nest on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi. Songbirds, raptors, and deer all paid us a visit. This is a lovely, imaginative place with great views.

About the Cooper’s Hawk

This crow-sized raptor ranges from Canada to Mexico, and hunts birds and small animals with stealth, ambushing prey in dense woods and brush.

The cottage, from structural design to construction, has been built to be resource-efficient. Discover the natural hand-hewn timber trusses spanning the ceilings. Lovely additional features found within Coopers Cottage are its skylights and smaller octagon accent windows connecting our guests to natural forest light.

Rules

  • Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed.
  • No Smoking/Excessive Wear and Tear Policy: Please enjoy smoking in the outside areas only. Smoking inside the cottages or lodges, or excessive wear and tear on the premises, may result in additional charges to your credit card. No fireworks or explosives of any kind are permitted on-site.
  • Children: Hawks View Cottages and Lodges may not be best suited for children. The grounds are very steep, heavily wooded, and wild. If you visit with children, please supervise them at all times.
  • Motorcycles: For safety reasons, we cannot accommodate motorcycles at our cottages, and parking cycles off-site may not be an acceptable alternative. There is street parking available at our suits for motorcycles.

  • Trailers: We do not allow trailers to be parked at any of our cottages. There is street parking available at our suits for trailers.

Booking & Cancellations

  • Payment Schedule:

    • 50% of the total amount is due at the time of reservation.
    • The remaining amount is to be paid on arrival.
  • Cancellation Policy:

    • Reservations may be canceled at any time with 100% of prepayments refunded.
  • Security Deposit:

    • A pre-authorization of $100 is held 1 day before arrival and voided 3 days after departure.

Our vineyards are planted with almost 17,000 northern hybrid grape vines, making us one of the largest vineyards in the Upper Midwest. All of our grapes are hand-pruned, hand-tended, and hand-harvested, and all of our wines are estate-grown and estate- bottled, and waiting for you to taste when you visit Coopers Cottage, or when you visit our tasting room, where tastings of our wines are always FREE!
