At the front of Osprey Cliffs perches this secluded lodge, just minutes away from historic downtown Fountain City. It is the perfect gathering place for those who love nature, but who also want to be close to coffee shops, dining, shopping, and activities of town.

Osprey’s cheerful lodge is flooded with natural light, and features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, free-standing fireplace stoves, and locally salvaged timber beams which define its interior with rustic splendor. Features & Practicalities

The fully-equipped custom kitchen has everything needed for cooking and entertaining, including range and oven, microwave, drip coffee maker, and much more. We keep basics such as dish soap, paper towels, spices, and sugar on hand. Your morning’s coffee and tea, eggs, oatmeal and juice are on us as well. The living room is furnished with a flat screen TV with cable/Roku, Wi-Fi internet, and board games.

On the Main Level

Located approximately 55 steps up the bluff, you’ll enjoy a powder room, living room, kitchen, and dining room with large table and hand crafted timber chairs on the main floor of Osprey Lodge. The screened porch is accessed off the dining area and is a great place to sit and watch the sun set behind the Minnesota bluffs.

On The Upper Level

The two master bedrooms have queen and king beds and walk-outs to their own private decks. Each suite has access to a parkstone ceramic spa bath, with walk-in showers with waterfall shower heads, and stocked with towels, robes, hair dryer, and toiletries.

What a great place! In the morning we gazed up at two hawks soaring above… reminds me of being in some special tree house as a kid, but with all the comforts of home.

About the Osprey Raptor

Ospreys can reach more than 24 inches in length, and 71 inches across its wing span.

Interesting to note, there was a medieval belief that fish were so mesmerized by this handsome raptor, they would float belly-up in surrender. Mentions of the Osprey are found in the famous Chinese poem “Guam Guam Ju Jiu”. In this poem, due to its highly monogamous habits, the Osprey is considered to be an icon of fidelity and harmony.

Rules

  • Pets: Sorry, no pets allowed.
  • No Smoking/Excessive Wear and Tear Policy: Please enjoy smoking in the outside areas only. Smoking inside the cottages or lodges, or excessive wear and tear on the premises, may result in additional charges to your credit card. No fireworks or explosives of any kind are permitted on-site.
  • Children: Hawks View Cottages and Lodges may not be best suited for children. The grounds are very steep, heavily wooded, and wild. If you visit with children, please supervise them at all times.

  • Motorcycles: For safety reasons, we cannot accommodate motorcycles at our cottages, and parking cycles off-site may not be an acceptable alternative. There is street parking available at our suits for motorcycles.

  • Trailers: We do not allow trailers to be parked at any of our cottages. There is street parking available at our suits for trailers.

Booking & Cancellations

  • Payment Schedule:

    • 50% of the total amount is due at the time of reservation.
    • The remaining amount is to be paid on arrival.
  • Cancellation Policy:

    • Reservations may be canceled at any time with 100% of prepayments refunded.
  • Security Deposit:

    • A pre-authorization of $100 is held 1 day before arrival and voided 3 days after departure.

  • Notes:

    • Pricing for lodges is based on 1-2 adults, each additional person over age 7 is $25 per night.

Our vineyards are planted with almost 17,000 northern hybrid grape vines, making us one of the largest vineyards in the Upper Midwest. All of our grapes are hand-pruned, hand-tended, and hand-harvested, and all of our wines are estate-grown and estate- bottled, and waiting for you to taste when you visit Coopers Cottage, or when you visit our tasting room, where tastings of our wines are always FREE!
